OTATARA COMMUNITY CENTRE
The Otatara Community Centre is a modern multi-purpose complex completed in 1999. It is jointly owned by the community, the Ministry of Education and the school.
The school makes extensive use of the facility during the school day. Community groups and individuals regularly hire areas during after school hours and weekends.
The Centre boasts a full-sized stadium, two meeting rooms and a commercially registered kitchen. These areas can be hired as a whole or as separate areas.
Hire usage in the past has been for -

The committee reserves the right to vary charges (including bond) where this is deemed to be appropriate.
In the case of hiring to under 25 year old customers a bond of $800.00 and a guarantor over the age of 25 is required to ensure the facility is cleaned and any damage repaired.

Conditions of the Hire of the Otatara community Centre, Invercargill
1.No Smoking is allowed within the buildings.
2.Keys to be returned to the School Office during office hours on the next working day, unless alternative arrangements have been made.
3.Any damage is to be reported to the School Office or Custodian (Please note that Bond money may be used to make good any damage or to ‘clean-up’ if necessary.
4.If alcohol is involved – please obtain a copy of relevant conditions.
5.All equipment is to be put a way in store rooms unless otherwise advised.
6.The building must be cleaned, cleared and all rubbish removed before departing unless previous arrangements have been made with the management.
7.The users of the building are responsible for:
•Setting up and clearing rooms – they should be left as found.
•Ensuring that they have arranged access to the building.
8.All lights and heaters are to be turned off before vacating the building
9.All doors and windows are to be locked and closed on leaving.
10.Any accident involving injury to any person visiting or using the Community Centre is to be advised to the School Office.
11.The power switch in the Meeting Room and Foyer of the hall are to be turned off before departing.
12.Hall Committee reserve the right to refuse a booking by individuals and or groups.

Consumption of Alcohol
The consumption of alcohol on the above premises is permitted at the discretion of the Centre Management Committee, subject to the following conditions.
1.The hirer is responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses under the Sale of Liquor Act 1989.
2.Consumption of Alcohol is to be in conjunction with activities which include the eating of a meal, tea or supper.
3.Special care is to be taken in the placing of bar facilities and in the handling of kegs etc, to ensure that damage does not occur to walls and floors.
4.All alcohol is to be provided by hirer and removed from the site at the end of the hire period. (This includes empties).
5.Any spillage is to be cleaned up immediately.
6.These conditions apply to all hirers.

6.I understand that in the event of any failure to return keys I will be liable for any costs of replacing keys and or rekeying – potential cost

7.I have read the Otatara Community Centre Safety Plan and will ensure that all persons using the Community Centre during this hire have the Otatara Community Centre Safety Plan brought to their attention.
