Welcome to Lottie Carter who has transferred to Otatara School. We hope you and your whānau enjoy being part of our learning community.

Otatara School’s ‘Pets ‘n’ Passion Day’ is on Friday October 25 2024. A detailed information booklet was sent home with your child/ren last Monday. All pet entries need to be in by tomorrow Friday 18 October on the yellow pet entry form which can be found on the back page of the Pets ‘n’ Passion Day booklet.

 

Passion entries can only be dropped off at the meeting room of the Community Hall on Thursday 24 October between 2:00pm and 6.00pm where hall helpers will fill in an entry form and collect exhibits for display. (Please note that no one will be allowed in the hall during this time.) Judging will commence at 6:00pm sharp.

Unfortunately there will be no pony rides this year but there will be a dog agility display on the field before the Grand Parade.

 

Keep an eye out for next week’s newsletter where there will be a detailed timetable of the day and a reminder about animal welfare and judging areas.

Our Year 5/6 leadership system is made up of 3 levels based on our school’s graduate profile. 

Students write a letter outlining the service they are providing, the responsibilities they have and how they are managing themselves in relation to our school values of ako, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and kaitiakitanga.  
 

Congratulations to our latest Level 1 leader Jack Packham and to Lizzie Walker who has now achieved Level 2. 

The swimming pool will open after Labour Weekend.   All fobs from last season need to be returned to be reset as they will not work for this season.
Please return your fobs to the office in a named envelope or stuck to paper with your name on it. Once the fobs are reset you will be able to pop into the office and sign the Conditions of Use document, pay your season subscription of $80 and get your fob for the coming season.  New users can pay $25 for a fob as well as the $80 season subscription.  Please see Noelene in the office to complete the required paperwork. 
This year the pool will be closed to the public on Fridays after school until 7pm (to be confirmed) for swimming lessons.
 
Swimming Pool Committee - we need people to be testers to ensure the pool can be opened to the community this summer. If you are interested please pop in and see Megan Packham in Room 3 or email her at megan@otatara.school.nz

Our last OPG meeting of 2024 will take place on Tuesday 22nd October at 7pm. This will also be our AGM. 

To register your child/ren for sport in Term 4, click on the links below for further information. Please note registration closing dates, late entries will not be accepted. All payments are to be made to the Otatara School bank account: 030855 0560871 000.

After registrations have closed and teams have been organised, team information will be emailed out to parents/caregivers.
