Our Junior School had their Sport's Day on the last day of term and participated in a range of activities focussing on running, jumping and throwing.

With winter around the corner, and the increase in traffic, we have noticed some unusual parking, pickups and drop offs in the car park. To alleviate this we are giving the Community Centre a spruce up by sweeping and cutting back foliage so that people can see the no parking lines and signs. Please bring along brooms and tools to cut foliage so that we can make this area as safe as we can for everyone in our community.

We are very grateful for the sponsorship from AJ Auto Electrical of our High Visibility Vests.  Please ensure that your tamariki are keeping safe by wearing them walking or biking to school, or keeping them in their bags for when they are in the Reserve or out and about, esepcially now that the days are getting darker.

What a special way to end the term by attending the George Begg Festival at Teretonga Raceway.  We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity to see some of New Zealand's top drivers in action alongside some fast and noisy cars.  Special thanks to our whānau who supported us for this amazing trip.

This term we are continuing our learning with Aoraki - Kā Tiritiri o te Moana - which will also support our whānau Matariki evening later this term.  The Aoraki story was shared recently at our whānau hui and we welcome you to share with your tamariki any stories that you have that could add to the kōrero in their classroom.  

Please find attached an Otatara map that shows the new Otatara Primary School bus route.

The route will start at Marama Ave North at 7.45am and go up to the Korimako intersection where it will turn around then head back towards Dunns Road.

 

It will then travel south on Marama Ave South to Taiepa Road, onto Grant Road.

It will travel along Watt Road, Black Road, Oreti Road and onto Aicken Road.

At the southern end of Aicken Road it will head west along Erskine Road to Oreti Road. The bus will then travel as far south on Oreti Road as there are passengers to collect. It will then turn around and go north along Matua Road, onto Ariki Ave to Dunns Road to Otatara School. It will arrive at Otatara School at approximately 8.15am.

 

In the afternoons it will go in the reverse direction (Dunns Road onto Ariki Ave etc). The last drop off will be up Marama Ave North. 

Each ride will cost $2.00 or $15 for a ten-ride concession ticket. This ticket will not have an expiry.

 

Go Bus may ask for you to sign a Code of Conduct and students will need to wear their high visibility vest every single day without exception.
